Being fearless – what does that take? And is it something we’re born with or can you learn to be fearless? Fearless is a character trait that describes someone who is brave, bold & unafraid. A fearless person is not easily intimidated or deterred by challenges, obstacles or certain danger. They’re willing to take risks & face their fears head on, even in the face of adversity & uncertainty. Are you fearless? Would you like to be?
What does fearless mean to you? It means different things to different people.
- not going along with the general rhetoric – it’s okay to not think or speak like the general masses
- being willing to start over
- embracing being on your own
- not following trends
- daring to be different – no matter your age
- being your authentic self
- being confident in what you like
- learning something new
- leaving a relationship/friendship that doesn’t serve you or is toxic
- being able to dine alone
- travelling alone
- taking classes in something you’ve never done before no matter your age
- getting healthy & finely losing that weight you’ve been wanting to for years
- taking a fitness class or joining a gym on your own
Ways to become more fearless:

- Get comfortable with being uncomfortable
- Make being brave a habit
- Practice mindfulness
- Find a mentor
- Embrace failure
If travelling alone sending you into a panic, try something on a smaller scale: eat in a nice restaurant alone, take a short overnight trip, head off to visit a friend on the other side of the country. Don’t let fear hold you back from seeing the world.
Start a course, learn a new language, try something new. Taking classes whether it’s a cooking class to a singing lesson, is a good way to meet others & step out of our comfort zone. Everyone was new to something. Don’t let that stop you.
Combatting your fear can be one of the most liberating feelings you’ll encounter. But give yourself time. If you’re not someone who has been fearless & confident most of your life you might want to ease into it. And while we’re all for being fearless & encouraging it, safety is paramount. Keep that in mind but be rational.
Being fearless also is about allowing love into your life at any age & living your authentic self. As long as you’re not harming yourself or others, you will always be happier & more confident living a life being true to yourself.
Is there something you’ve been putting off for fear of failing? Is there something you want to try but don’t know how to start or you’re worried you won’t be very good at it? What if. What if you try & all is good. No one excels at something after their first try. Being fearless will grant you opportunities to be happier & more fulfilled. What can you do today to be your fearless best? Be brave, be bold, be fearless! Lots of love…
