Season 2 has unpacked so many of the common issues around weight loss and gaining a healthier lifestyle. Here are our favorites from Season 2:
We covered a myriad of topics within Season 2 and the research and knowledge we gained in bringing these episodes to you has been life changing in so many ways.
Among our and your favourites were:
Choices: the learnings from listening and understanding Kirsty’s story have resonated throughout the whole of our health journey. Making a choice, based on your own personal health and self-care, seeking and gaining support of friends and loved ones and seeing the decision through is confidence building and quite literally life changing. The idea of finding quality substitutes for the habit you are removing from your lifestyle, whether it is a replacement or to keep your mind and time busy is invaluable and can apply to all areas of our lives.
Discipline: talking to Charlene and understanding what it takes to be a US Marine, the dedication and unwavering discipline is remarkable and inspiring in equal measure. The mindset of discipline, forgoing or sacrificing something ‘easier’ for the sake of a long-term reward along with not letting yourself of others down leads to results and something we can come back to again and again on our health journey.
Consistency: to begin a challenge or task asks us to create some motion and action and sets us off along a path but to get to the end goal, consistency is fundamental. Showing up every single day with a mindset of committing to the changes we are introducing and consistently making those choices and decisions means we will see results, no matter how slowly. Grasp the concept of being consistent and we will succeed.
Gut Health: start with the Gut and your improved health will follow. We learnt so much about what and why our bodies need different nutrient dense food and how our gut thanks us for it, it is truly life changing when it comes to how we eat and our diet. The food our gut requires to function optimally then naturally improves our health, brain, weight loss and mood. It is a game changer. Make some small adjustments and prioritise your gut and your health and the results may surprise you.
There were so many topics within this Season that made an impact and each one of us will have taken different highlights away with us, but the message is still the same; keep building your routine and small goals. Over time these will lead to progress. Make a plan, hone your routine and stay the course. Be consistent in putting your health first and make sure you enjoy the journey.
